The Amsterdam has several distinct advantages. The removable glass top allows you to keep your coffee grinds soaked in the water at the ideal temperature, around 190°F, without cooling down. This ideal temperature ensures more complete flavor extraction from the grinds. The double-layered filter is coarse enough to allow more coffee oils to pour into your brew, while keeping the grinds out of your cup. You can use fine, medium, or coarse grinds, each yielding a different flavor profile. No paper filters are required, saving you money. The soft silicone grip makes it easy to hold, and the entire unit is dishwasher safe.

Weigh your beans before grinding them, around 22 grams for a 12 oz cup, and grind them to a medium consistency. Add the grounds to the filter, wet them to "bloom" the coffee, and then pour water in a circular fashion to brew. Once ready, simply pour the coffee from the carafe into your cup. You can also place the carafe on a tea light warmer to keep your coffee warm, but be careful not to use it on a stovetop or high flame.
